Dr. Hoop and our team understand that many patients are concerned about the cost of dentistry. That is why we are happy to work with a broad range of insurance policies. We are even in-network with Cigna PPO. Your plan’s emphasis on preventive care can be an invaluable asset as you strive to protect your smile’s health, and it serves as a financial safety net for those times when your teeth might need a little restorative care. But how can you get the most out of your Cigna plan? The experts at Total Dental Solutions for Adults are ready to help.
Cigna offers a few different dental PPO plans (otherwise known as DPPO plans). Whether you purchased your insurance yourself or you have it through your employer, your coverage might work something like this:
Keep in mind as well that if you have the Cigna Preventive Plan, no restorative services are covered. For the more robust policies, you can expect to pay a deductible before your insurance kicks in. You must also keep in mind that you have an annual maximum, which is the greatest amount that Cigna will pay out for approved services within a calendar year. For the Cigna Dental 1000 plan, the maximum is $1,000. For the Cigna Dental 1500, the maximum is $1,500.
You can derive the greatest value from your Cigna PPO plan if you choose an in-network dentist, such as Total Dental Solutions for Adults. Being in-network means that we have pre-negotiated the fees for certain services with Cigna. This arrangement helps to keep out of pocket costs as low as possible for patients.
Also, since we are used to working with Cigna, we can suggest strategies to help you get the most out of your policy. For example, if you require a major treatment that will take place across multiple appointments, we might be able to schedule it across calendar years so you can use two annual maximums rather than just one.
