Bridges are one of the more traditional ways of replacing a missing tooth or several missing teeth. In typical situation where a person is missing one tooth, we crown the teeth on either side of the missing tooth and actually attach a replacement tooth to these two crowns and it gets cemented in as one piece. It's non-removable. It's cemented into place. People can actually feel like it is their normal tooth. They can have good biting force and good chewing capacity with a bridge much more so than a removable appliance.

Dental Crowns Are Part of Total Dental Solutions
A dental crown is a tooth-colored shell that completely caps the visible portion of a damaged tooth for improved protection, strength, and appearance.
At George A. Hoop, DDS, PA, we give you the option of porcelain dental crowns because they look the most like natural enamel so no one will know you’ve had your tooth repaired.
Dental crowns can also be attached to dental implants to completely replace a missing tooth without having to prepare your surrounding healthy teeth!
We also offer partial crowns, called onlays and inlays.
Our Dental Bridge Process
Dental bridges literally bridge the gaps in your smile left by missing teeth. We can use them to replace a single tooth or multiple adjacent missing teeth.
If you decide to use a traditional dental bridge, we will:
- Carefully plan and design your treatment using advanced dental technology
- Numb the area for optimum comfort
- Prepare your teeth on either side of the gap by removing a small amount of enamel to make room for the dental crowns on each end
- Attach your dental bridge to your surrounding teeth, filling the gap with a false tooth
If you’d like to preserve your surrounding healthy teeth, we can also attach a dental bridge to dental implants.
