As the fifth in three generations of dentists, Dr. George A. Hoop is keeping the family legacy alive by providing compassionate, quality dental care to our patients. He grew up in the Fort Lauderdale area of south Florida, went to Northwestern University for two years, then transferred to Emory University to finish his bachelor’s degree in economics.
Dr. Hoop graduated with high honors from the Emory University School of Dentistry in 1986, ranking second in a class of 87 students. While completing his studies, Dr. Hoop earned two scholarships for his impressive academic performance, among many other awards he received for academic excellence and his outstanding grasp of dental anatomy.
Upon graduation, Dr. Hoop was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. He then continued at the Emory University School of Postgraduate Dentistry as a research fellow in periodontics, completing a periodontal specialty residency in 1989. From there, he worked for several dentists, traveling to various practices to provide periodontal care to patients.
In addition to his specialty degree in periodontics, Dr. Hoop has completed a 20-month course in dental implants at the renowned Misch International Implant Institute, plus extensive continuing education courses with the world-renowned Pankey Institute and Pikos Institute. He now has over 25 years of experience in providing dental implants.
He has also taken numerous other courses in several areas of dentistry, including:

Dr. Hoop has been in private practice in the Fort Myers, FL area since 1991 and North Naples, FL since 2001. One of the most rewarding parts of his job is seeing the smile on his patients’ faces after they have undergone a particularly complex cosmetic or restorative transformation.
To give his patients the most comfortable, efficient care possible, Dr. Hoop has invested in some of the most state-of-the-art dental technology on the market. He also ensures the safety of his patients by conforming to or exceeding all safety standards put forth by:
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
- The American Dental Association (ADA)
- The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
- The Florida state OSHA
When he’s not busy building beautiful, healthy smiles in our North Naples and Fort Myers, FL dental offices, Dr. Hoop loves spending time with his wife, Lisa, and their two children, Jason and Lindsay. He also enjoys fishing, gourmet cooking, and woodworking.
